ABOUT THIS WEBSITE:
This website has been constructed to provide information about the 2005 Compassion Advocates Trip to India in the hope that you may use it as a resource to learn about the work of Compassion in India and use it as a prayer guide, so that you may hold the individuals involved up in prayer during their trip.
Please keep checking the site for information - the intention is to update you on the teams' news and events as the trip progresses (God and technology willing). You will find updates and hopefully photos on the following pages of this site (follow the orange text links to the left of this page).
Editors Post Script: This Compassion Advocates Trip has now ended. This site will not be updated further, but will remain accessible as a resource for anyone who wishes to use it. The next trip will take place in July 2006 to the Phillipines.
WHAT IS AN ADVOCATE?
Compassion Advocates are volunteers who have agreed to give up their time to support the work of Compassion UK. Their main role is to raise awareness of the organisations' work and to seek out opportunities to find sponsors for children in 24 of the world's developing countries. They are all ordinary people who have a heart to "release children from poverty in Jesus' name". There are currently over 200 Advocates across the U.K and Ireland. This number is growing at a fast pace as sponsors become challenged to advocate formally for Compassion's work. For more information about how to become an Advocate, please visit the Compassion UK website (see link below).

WHY TAKE ADVOCATES TO INDIA?
The aim of the trip is to expose Advocates to the work of Compassion in a way that will assist them to better understand the work and organisation and therefore be better advocates and witnesses to the impact Christ has upon the lives of the most vulnerable children.
This is NOT a mission trip, but will almost certainly be a life-changing and empowering experience for the Advocates involved.
