DAY SIX

A 09.30 start this morning was followed by a drive an hour and a half south of Chennai to project 515 (Victory Child Development Centre). Again we were greeted by a sea of smiling faces. Despite only having 12 hours to prepare for us, the project staff and the children put together another moving presentation of singing and dance (accompanied ably by "Bangra Pete" - a man of many hidden talents). As at a previous project the advocates team sang and danced for the children ("The Name of The Lord"). Later in the afternoon, we visited some more homes of the sponsored children. This was again a fantastic experience and we were privileged to be able to spend time talking to and praying with the families. Some of the issues that we prayed about were for unemployment and income, flood-damaged houses, illness and the children's studies. One of the houses belonging to a sponsored child's family had been totally washed away by the flood water. Malnutrition has been a common sight amongst the children of these families. Many of the children appear to be half the age that they actually are. We finished today being taught how to sing (and sign) "To be like Jesus" by Chris. PLEASE CHECK ALL THE PHOTOS PAGES FOR NEW PICS!!!!!

Just want to echo Carol's sentiments as another spouse at home. It really has been a wonderful blessing to be able to follow your steps as you travel around Chennai and to see all those little faces which you have seen. I don't know you, Justin, but I hear that our families have much in common! May God richly bless you and Hayley (I hope that's right!) and your family - maybe one day we will meet, if not down here then definitely up there. Love and prayers to all the team (especially Colin!) and thank you once again for providing this wonderful website. Love Beverley xx

Greetings from Wareham
I have just spent a wonderful half hour reviewing your travels. The projects look to be making a real difference to the lives of the children and families. Its raining here but we have really no idea of the effect of rain and floods in england given our confortable homes and rescue services. Hope all is well Judith. Love and prayers to you all.

Find us another child
Hi Hayley & Justin. The new photos make you cry. In fact they have moved us so much, that we want a third sponsor child. If at the centre you are based at you hear of a child that needs sponsoring, either boy or girl, please forward the details to us. If you get to visit them, please take some photos for us. God Bless you and the team. Love Zoe & Andy

Hello
Hello to all the team. What a beautiful way to start back to work this week - to see all that you are experiencing and to hear of all what Compassion are doing in India. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. A big hello to Kate, Clare, Colin and Mary. Looking forward to seeing you all soon.

Rain Stopped Play
Sorry your plans have been weather affected, and you've not been able to see more of the country. It's wonderful for us (and the kids) to see where you've been each day: I'm sure they have gained a lot of peace and reassurance from the regular updates. We are certain that your presence there means the world to all the children who have been adopted by Compassion. We are looking forward to your safe return, and hearing your stories first hand! Rich, Sue, Aimee, Carys and Josua.
